Biden Still Committed to Israel’s Support

US President Joe Biden stated that he is still committed in his support for Israel and confirmed that support also comes from Democratic lines, although some progressives blatantly criticized the Jewish state in the past days the battles at the Gaza Strip, Fox News informed.

While attending a press conference his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in he was asked about his position on constant calls from progressives in his party lines to confront Israel more fiercely. Biden stated that he still stands in support of Israel and that there will be no peace up until all the regional forces acknowledge that there is a Jewish state.

He said he is committed to the security of Israel and reiterated calls for a two-state solution adding that this solution is the only answer.

Jen Psaki, the press secretary also supported Biden’s sentiment, saying that the White House will not amend anything in the process of getting security assistance to the Jewish state. The progressive wing in the Democratic party fiercely opposed a $735 million weapons sale to Israel and to the billions in foreign aid.

Although Biden has repeated the right of Israel to defend itself and said that Hamas is a terrorist organization, he still urged the Jewish state to agree to a ceasefire.
