US President Joe Biden on Friday said that the Covid-19 pandemic has provided US’s parents the ultimate lesson on the challenges and struggles teachers have, Fox News informed.
Biden spoke at the US largest teachers union, mentioning that 2020 was the year that proved teachers across the country deserve higher salaries.
He said that every parent that tried to educate his kid last year at home now understands that the raise is imminent in this profession.
Biden said this while presenting his legislation priorities and budget for the next year. The budget includes $20 billion in fresh funding aimed at increasing the teachers salaries.
As a close ally of the teachers unions, Biden emphasized that educators are the most important part of the future of United States.
