Homeland Secretary Accused Trump Administration of Current Spike in Immigration

Alejandro Mayorkas

Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary for Homeland Security accused former President Trump’s administration of the increase of border crossings happening after Biden has taken office, Fox News informed.

Mayorkas argued that Trump cut the international assistance of the US for Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, cutting back the resources that addressed what caused the irregular immigration.

He also argued that the current administration has put an end to the gruesome policies of the Trump administration and restored the laws that US Congress has approved as a reason for the immigration surge, adding that the economic resurgence of the US and the reinstatement of the American promise were also one of the reasons.
