Republican Chuck Grassley, who is a Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, asked the DOJ (Department of Justice) to reveal records that might verify a complaint of racial bias imposed on David Chipman, Fox News informed.
Chipman is a nominee of President Joe Biden for the top job at the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives).
Grassley sent a letter to Inspector General’s Office accusing Chipman of showing a pattern of very concerning behavior that is racially biased, after a black former agent of the ATF issued accusation towards Biden’s nominee for being targeted in a probe that lasted for years based on the allegations that he cheated on a test.
The agent who wanted to stay anonymous, said for The Reload on Wednesday that the probe was a punishment after he performed well on an exam for combating the rise in gun crime, due to the fact that Chipman was not aware of his background in programs for anti-violence.
