Texas Federal Judge Orders Biden Administration to Halt the Approval of New Applications under DACA

A southern Texas federal judge on Friday ordered Biden administration to halt issuing new applications to an immigration program from the Obama era that protected young immigrants from deportation, CNBC informed.

The judge’s order claimed that the program commonly known as DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), was established contrary to the law and its existence is in violation of the law.

However, the judge noted that current DACA recipients will not lose their status as the result of this order.

The order, which jeopardizes the program that Biden wanted to keep in place, arrived as the media outlets presented information that the number of arrests performed on the US-Mexico border has reached the highest level in more than a decade.
