Senator Blackburn Blasts Fauci for Rejecting Covid-19 Lab Leak Theory

Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn issued accusations towards Dr. Anthony Fauci of trying to divert the criticism of his way of handling the theory that Covid-19 leaked from a lab, Fox News informed.

The news come after an interview in which Fauci accused his detractors of using the anti-science attacks.

Fauci gave a long interview for the New York Times Sway podcast, where he once again voiced his beliefs that Covid-19 was most like transferred from an infected animal to a human and that it was not a lab accident that led to the world pandemic. Blackburn and other GOP lawmakers criticized Fauci’s declaration that there is not sufficient proofs to back the lab leak theory.

In May, President Joe Biden directed the intelligence community to investigate the two theories and report their discoveries in a period of 90 days. At first, rejected and thought to be a conspiracy, the lab leak theory is once again popular in the media after Wall Street Journal reports that 3 researchers that worked in the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China were hospitalized in the fall of 2019 with Covid-19 symptoms.
