Defense Department Won’t Allow Pride Flag to Be Flown on its Premises

The Department of Defense said that it will not permit the Pride flag to be flown at premises it controls, John Kirby, the spokesperson said on Friday, Fox News informed.

Kirby spoke to reporters and said that they considered carefully the matter and decided to hold to the existing policy and make no exception for the Pride flag.

He pointed out that this is not due to any lack of admiration or respect for the LGBTQ+ community, but more of the potential of other matters the might possibly arise from making that exception.

Unlike the DoD, the State Department headed by Antony Blinken admonished a policy made by Trump that denied requests for displaying the Pride flag in June, the month of Pride celebration.
