A recent poll by the market research company Morning Consult and the political news publication Politico conducted during May has found that Republican Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney is nearly three times more popular among Democratic voters than Republican voters, according to Newsweek.
While 42 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters view Cheney favorably and only 22 percent of Democrats view her unfavorably, only 15 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters view Cheney favorably and 53 percent view her unfavorably.
Conclusion is nearly 2.5 times more Republicans disfavor Cheney than Democrats, showing the potential uphill climb that Cheney could face during her re-election campaign next year.
On a positive note, this percentage is far better compared to “almost 80 percent of Republicans that supported Cheney’s ousting rom Republican House leadership position”, according to CBS News poll.
That was Cheney’s price to pay for publicly criticizing former President Donald Trump for his election fraud claims and she also voted to impeach Trump for the alleged inciting the January 6 Capitol riots.
