Gov. Brad Little to be Challenged by Idaho Lieutenant Governor in 2022

Janice McGeachin, the Lieutenant Governor of Idaho, revealed her intentions to pursue the gubernatorial position in 2022 on Wednesday, becoming part of a field already full of challengers of the incumbent Gov. Brad Little, Fox News informed.

McGeachin harshly criticized Little on his COVID-19 restrictions, deepening the division between Trump-supporting politicians and establishment Republicans.

Last year, McGeachin said that there are tensions in their relationship. She blasted Little when he introduced the stay at home order in 2020, according to KTVB-TV in Boise.

McGeachin said that people of Idaho were faced with flagrant violations in the past year, adding that the leaders entrusted with higher positions succumbed to fear and made some very bad decisions.

According to the Idaho Statesman, she also stated that she is ready to battle radical leftists as well.

McGeachin added that she is proud to be from Idaho, practices Christianity and declares as a conservative and with support of the Idahoan people she will become the first woman to assume the gubernatorial position.

McGeachin is, as well, the first female lieutenant governor of Idaho, according to KTVB.

However, she will have a tough fight as five other members of the GOP have already launched their challenges so far.
