President Biden said on Thursday that former President Donald Trump views all of the January 6 demonstrators as patriots, including the man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Fox News informed.
Trump did not appear to have publicly referred to the Pelosi attacker as a patriot, and a Trump spokeswoman refuted Biden’s assertion to the contrary. Instead, Trump described the attack on Pelosi’s husband as a “sad scenario” and an “awful thing.”
Trump has claimed that some of the participants in the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol were patriots who had lost control during the rally.
Less than a week has passed after Paul Pelosi was brutally attacked in San Francisco, when Biden made his remarks. Democrats have jumped to the conclusion that Pelosi and her family were targets as a result of years of GOP criticism, even if the exact reason for the attack is yet unknown.
According to Biden, Republican rhetoric that has heightened political tensions is to blame for the violence.
Similar remarks were made by Biden earlier this week in Washington, D.C., at a DNC event. Biden characterized the upcoming midterm elections as a key time for American democracy when addressing a group of party leaders.
According to Biden, there is excessive political violence and intimidation.
He added that the Republican ticket for state, federal, and local office this year includes more than 300 election deniers.
Voters are not buying the bluster, according to recent polls, as inflation is at a 40-year high. Although Biden’s favor rating has increased recently, a recent Fox News survey revealed that Republicans are ahead of Democrats among probable voters for Congress.
According to the same study, 89% of respondents expressed extreme anxiety about price increases and inflation, but only 74% did the same about the country’s persistent political differences.
