John Durham, the Special Counsel is set to present evidence in front of a grand jury and is preparing an extended report set to be completed in the upcoming months, according to sources familiar with this matter, Fox News informed.
Durham was appointed by the Trump Administration to probe the origins of the FBI’s 2016 Russia investigation.
Durham’s audit, which started in May 2019, has had one prosecution and lasts longer than the 2-year mandate of the special counsel Robert Mueller, who in 2017 took over the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.
He has been considering potential criminal charges aimed at several low-level FBI employees, and people that are not part of the government, the sources claim.
Durham was also set to present a report, although the target might be pushed back, according to the sources.
