Sheriff Joe Lombardo from Nevada on Monday has launched his Republican campaign for governor hoping to challenge the incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak, Fox News informed.
The Sheriff of the best known and most populous county in Nevada said that the quality of life in the state is in jeopardy.
Lombardo is a military veteran who joined the LVMPD (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department) in 1988 as an officer and was promoted. After serving for 26 years, he was elected as the Clark County sheriff in 2014 and four years later he was reelected. He is heading around 5,000 police officers in the LVMPD.
