RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on nine polls, ranging from 51% (Rasmussen) to 56% (Fox News). Biden’s disapproval rating averages 43% today (down 1 from June 19).

NEW JERSEY: GOVERNOR 2021
Among voters statewide

Gov. Phil Murphy (D) over Jack Ciatterelli (R): +16 (48 to 32)
 
RON’S COMMENT: New Jersey has a gubernatorial election Nov. 2 and the Democratic incumbent is favored to win. Based on this poll, 84% of Democrats are voting for Murphy and 77% of Republicans are voting for Ciatterelli, a former state assemblyman and the second-place finisher in the 2017 GOP primary for governor…. 50% of voters approve of Murphy’s job performance and 39% disapprove; 81% of Democrats and 11% of Republicans approve. 

ECONOMIC CONCERNS

RON’S COMMENT: 74% of Republicans, 30% of Democrats and 54% of independents say additional federal unemployment benefits are hurting the economic recovery by discouraging people from looking for jobs.

PROOF OF VACCINATION

Do you think employers should––or should not––be allowed to require employees to provide proof that they have been vaccinated against coronavirus? 

  • Should be allowed to require proof of vaccination: 51%
  • Should NOT be allowed to require proof of vaccination: 42%

RON’S COMMENT: 37% of Republicans, 69% of Democrats and 47% of independents say employers should be allowed to require employees to provide proof of vaccination.

ORIGIN OF THE CORONAVIRUS

Thinking about the origins of COVID-19, which do you think is more likely? 

  • It was created by scientists in China and leaked from their laboratory: 60%
  • It evolved from nature and spread to humans at a Chinese animal market: 31% 

RON’S COMMENT: 79% of Republicans, 41% of Democrats and 58% of independents say it was created by scientists in China and leaked from their laboratory.

BIDEN’S HANDLING OF ISSUES

RON’S COMMENT: Of these matters, China is Biden’s weakest issue––14% of Republicans, 67% of Democrats and 35% of independents approve of his handling of it. The coronavirus pandemic is his strongest issue––38% of Republicans, 91% of Democrats and 52% of independents approve of his handling of it.
