Biden Set to Meet with Lawmakers to Talk New Infrastructure Strategy

US President Joe Biden is set to meet with lawmakers amid the push of a bipartisan group to create an infrastructure strategy that could pass in Congress with the support of both parties, Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary said on Monday, CNBC informed.

A number of 21 senators from both sides of the aisle gave their support to a plan estimated at $1 trillion that covers transportation, broadband, and water systems. The President and some Democrats from Congress sought answers about how the lawmakers are going to pay for the strategy, while liberal Democrats described the plan as inadequate for the fight against climate change.

The talks scheduled for this week, might be the final push in order for a compromise to be found, before some Democrats try to push another strategy on their own. While the talks between both parties are ongoing, the Democratic party began drafting a budget resolution which would allow passing a bill without the votes of Republicans.
