Laredo Sector Marks 900% Increase in Arrests of Criminal Immigrants: Border Patrol

According to Border Patrol agents the arrests of criminal immigrants in the Texas’ Laredo Sector who illegally entered the United States marked a very steep increase this year, Fox News informed.

The news come as agents from the Border Patrol are constantly exposed to illegal crossings in what appears to be an overwhelming migrant crisis. The list of immigrants includes sex offenders, gang members and many other criminally involved individuals who are trying to enter the United States.

According to a press release issued by CBP (Customs and Border Protection), around 760 criminal immigrants who tried to illegally enter the US have been detained by the agents in the Laredo Sector. For comparison, last year the number of arrests was 60, which is an increase of 900%.

In April, there were around 178,000 migrants encountered at the border which is way more than the 172,000 that were encountered in March. Although, many of these cases were dealt with under the Title 42 public health protections, agents claim that there are also many who get away past them. The estimated number of those who managed to escape from the agents is around 1,000.
