The Michigan GOP has filed a complaint against Gretchen Whitmer, claiming that the Democratic Governor who went on a trip to Florida with a private jet violated the Michigan Campaign Finance Act, Fox News reported.
Additionally, GOP claimed that Whitmer traveled to Florida contrary to the health guidelines she herself has imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The party also urged the Secretary of State of Michigan to take legal actions against Whitmer.
According to Fox News, the complaint covers various violations of the Michigan Campaign Finance Act made with her luxury, secretive travel to the Sunshine State, a trip she take in order to visit her father.
Jason Cabel Roe, the GOP executive director in Michigan, stated that the Governor’s actions reveal her utter hypocrisy and bad leadership through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Roe also stated that she is not above the law and must be tried according to her actions, despite her safety concerns for commercial traveling.
