President Joe Biden said Friday to reporters and Democratic contributors that he owns a gun but that the Second Amendment does not have absolute power, Fox News informed.
While Biden possesses two shotguns, he does not think the Second Amendment includes all types of firearms, according to a speech he gave at a Democratic donor dinner.
Furthermore, at the fundraiser dinner, Biden informed contributors that the idea of arming school workers was completely incorrect. He cited the rigor of military training as proof that “blowing someone’s brains out” is not easy.
At the event the President said that giving teachers guns in the classroom is not the idea they are going to present as the best solution to a problem of gun safety.
He added that there is a reason why military training lasts so long as it is not very easy to get a gun or a rifle and kill someone.
Biden advocated for the reinstatement of the ban on federal assault weapons, which was approved in 1994 and lapsed in 2004, in a speech to the nation following the killing in Uvalde last week that featured an AR-15 rifle.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Tuesday, 50 percent of registered voters favor a nationwide ban on the semi-automatic long firearms, with 45 percent opposing it.
According to the study, 57 percent of Americans want tighter gun legislation in the United States, up from 45 percent in a Quinnipiac poll conducted in November.
The vast majority of Democrats (91%) want tighter gun legislation, while only 32% of Republicans agree. According to a poll, 92 percent of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, support background checks.
When he was vice president in 2015, Biden advised Americans who wanted to defend their homes to buy a shotgun rather than an AR-15.
At the time Biden said that an AR-15 isn’t required adding that it is more difficult to aim and use this rifle and that people do not need 30 rounds to defend themselves.
