Former President Donald Trump backed Alabama Senate challenger Katie Britt on Friday night, expressing his opposition to Representative Mo Brooks, whom he had previously praised, Fox News informed.

In an email sent late on Friday, Trump stated that he had dropped Brooks’ endorsement because he had become “awake” on the matter of the 2020 election.

In a statement Trump said that the endorse Brooks for US Senate because he thought he was fighter, but that he changed his mind after Brooks made a blunder and went woke the rally in Cullman, Alabama.

Trump went on to claim, that instead of condemning the election’s voter fraud, Mo chastised the gathering of 63,000 people, telling them to “put that behind them, put that behind you,” implying that they should forget about the rigged election and focus on the future. The problem is that it will happen again if people forgot about it, Trump continued.

Brooks and Britt are vying for the Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Richard Shelby, R-Ala. On June 21, they will compete in a runoff primary election.

Brooks has launched a campaign to reclaim Trump’s endorsement in his Senate bid, asking Trump to “Reendorse Mo.”

Britt was dubbed “a courageous America First Warrior” by Trump, who promised voters that she will battle for policies that support the Make America Great Again movement.

Trump stated that Katie, who is the happy mother of two amazing children, and her wonderful husband, Wesley, who is a star at the University of Alabama, are the True Champions for the American Family.

Following the news, Britt conducted a victory lap on social media, professing her allegiance to the “America First” political program.

Brooks retaliated by claiming that Trump is “the only individual in the US politics who could be deceived twice by Mitch McConnell in an Alabama Senate election.”
