The House Ethics Committee is looking into North Carolina Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn, Fox News informed.

The committee is investigating allegations of financial wrongdoing leveled against Cawthorn after the then-sitting MP encouraged his supporters to buy the “Let’s Go Brandon” coin.

Pursuant to the Committee’s action, the Investigative Subcommittee shall have jurisdiction to determine on if Representative Madison Cawthorn improperly endorsed a cryptocurrency wherein he might have had an undisclosed financial interest, and participated in an inadequate relationship with an individual employed on his congressional staff, the committee stated.

Cawthorn has been accused of playing a role in the Let’s Go Brandon crypto currency’s fast spike in value and subsequent collapse, a technique known as a “pump and dump.”

On May 11, the committee has voted to constitute the probe subcommittee.

The ethics committee stated that the opening of a probe does not imply that there has been a breach.

A separate inquiry is underway into whether Cawthorn was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.

Two days after losing his Republican race amid many scandals, Cawthorn attacked those who didn’t give him support and declared it’s time for the “new right” and “Dark MAGA” to assume control.

Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, responded to Madison’s remarks.

McDaniel had no idea what that meant when asked on “Fox News Sunday.”

“I’m not sure what ‘Dark MAGA’ means.

It reminds me of a Star Wars scene “McDaniel remarked.
