Last month, the Republican National Committee outspent the Democratic National Committee in fundraising, as both national party committees prepare for November’s midterm elections, when the GOP hopes to reclaim control of the House and Senate, Fox News informed.
According to fundraising numbers shared exclusively with Fox News on Saturday, the RNC raised $14.2 million in April.
The Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund, the joint fundraising arm of DNC, raised $12.9 million.
The RNC’s newest haul takes the total amount raised by the national party committee for the 2022 election cycle to $219.9 million.
This puts the DNC behind, with almost $213 million raised so far in this cycle.
According to Ronna McDaniel the RNC’s chair the GOP is seriously considering delivering victories of the Republican across entire America, adding that the GOP has shown an incredible enthusiasm by outraising, outinvesting, and outorganizing the entire Democratic Party efforts.
McDaniel also said that the US is harmed by the failed policies of Biden, and in November they will work to fire both Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
However, the DNC has a significant cash edge over the GOP.
Since the end of April, the DNC had $65.6 million in its coffers, compared to $43.7 million for the RNC.
Fundraising for national parties is a key indicator of donor and voter enthusiasm ahead of the midterm elections, and the money raised can be used for a variety of things, including party staffing in crucial battlegrounds, grassroots, as well as other get-out-the-vote attempts, political ads, and can be allocated for the party’s House and Senate re-election committees.
The Republicans just need to gain one seat in the 100-member Senate to reclaim the majority they lost in Georgia’s twin runoff elections in January 2021.
Republicans also need to gain five seats in the 435-member Legislature to reclaim the majority they lost in the 2018 midterm elections.
