Explosion Rocks Airport in the South of Yemen

The explosion occurred in ​​the airport of Atak, the administrative center of the Shabwa province, located in the south of Yemen, Saudi media reported.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the explosion is the launch of a ballistic missile by the Houthi rebels from the movement “Ansar Allah” in a settlement controlled by the forces of the internationally recognized government of Yemen, reports Aden Algad, citing sources.

On October 30, a powerful explosion occurred near the airport in the city of Aden in Yemen. An explosive device was detonated at the outer gate of the airport. Since August 2014, Yemen’s civil war has been waged between government forces and the Houthis.

Since March 2015, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia has been participating in hostilities on the side of the internationally recognized government.

The agreements reached by the parties to the conflict at the end of 2018 at the talks in Sweden have not been implemented.
