NFTs Brought to Politics by Arizona Senate Candidate

The Republican US Senate candidate in Arizona Blake Masters, co-author of tech pioneer Peter Thiel’s blockbuster “Zero to One,” is offering NFTs with a limit of 99 copies in an effort to attract support from the less conventional political donors.

Masters, as he claims, also aims towards the founders and builders who want to see new thinking and new energy in the US politics.

The Tucson native, who helps run the multibillion-dollar firm Thiel Capital that invests in tech startups and is president of the Thiel Foundation, has allegedly offered an “Origins NFT” that will go to donors who give the maximum – half for the primary, and half for the general election if he wins- of $5,800.

Masters used a rotating rendition of the early cover art he used to help persuade his former Stanford Law professor Thiel to collaborate on “Zero to One,” published in 2014.

He’ll compete along Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to take on Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly seat and the fundraiser he held at Mar-a-Lago that included Trump as a speaker gives Masters’ camp hope for an endorsement.

Although the idea behind the offer is give donors a sense of ownership, there are real-life events planned for the virtual club.

Stressing that the best NFT projects aren’t just random art on the blockchain, Masters pointed they create and support communities “where people share an excitement about something in particular”.
