Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis said on Sunday that people from Florida are well aware that he won’t let anyone impose them lockdowns or take their jobs, Fox News informed.
Desantis also stated that the country won’t let anybody interfere and ruin the businesses that people are running. Additionally, he mentioned the country will not allow for the schools to be shut, and that people will be free to live their way of life and make their own decisions.
DeSantis said all of this while he was discussing the newly arisen concerns regarding the latest variant of Covid-19 called omicron, which has seen a spike in cases in the last two weeks.
The Republican Governor slammed universities for imposing lockdowns, although they had already mandated that students must receive vaccines and wear masks. Still, with all these measures there are people that still tested positive for Covid-19.
DeSantis said that even fully vaccinated people get infected and that they are using the monoclonal antibody clinics which are constituted across the state, and that these people are also high-risk. He also pointed out that since the establishment of these clinics that country has recorded one of the lowest rates of hospitalization.
DeSantis had an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo who also asked the Florida Governor about the 50,000 jobs which were created in November.
This prompted an answer from the governor who said that the jobs created in Florida amounted to 25% of the overall job output in the US.
