Canon Sets Goal of Having 30% Women Employees in Saudi Arabia by 2023

In line with national efforts of Saudi Arabia to integrate more women into the its workforce, the Saudi unit of global camera maker Canon has promoted publicly its goal to have Saudi women make up 30% of its employees in the Kingdom by the end of 2023, Arab News reports.

Reaffirming its commitment to Saudi Vision 2030, which includes promoting the inclusion of women in the workplace, Canon said it has been working towards this target it first opened offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar in 2018.

To further support the 2023 target, the company also launched a “Women in Sales” internship program.

Emphasizing its commitment to also young talents Saudi Arabia, Canon has previously teamed up with Jeddah-based King Abdul Aziz University to develop technology-enabled training, investing in capacity building and supporting young and local talent.

Canon Saudi has also partnered with Mohammed Al-Mana College for Medical Sciences in launching a scholarship program to fully sponsor one academically distinguished female student for the full 5-year duration of her studies.
