Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense deplored that “you can’t buy willpower” during a call with the members of the US Congress on Sunday, while the Taliban forces were near a full takeover of Afghanistan, Fox News informed.
Austin, Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, and Army General Mark Milley, have briefed the members of the House and the Senate in separate virtual conferences on Sunday about Afghanistan’s crumbling situation.
The officials revealed that the US was fully prepared for every scenario, but Austin said that he was very disappointed that the Afghanistan forces did not resist in the areas that were taken over by the Taliban.
