The president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani has fled the country on a plane as the Taliban proceeded their sweeping operations through the Asian country and entered Kabul, the capital city, Fox News informed.
In the meantime, the US Embassy has stopped all the operations and evacuated the staff safely.
A US official who spoke to Fox News has said that it is now over after the country’s president has fled.
According to some sources, the Taliban forces could enter the presidential building on Sunday evening.
Fox News has talked to an official at the White House who said that US President Joe Biden is constantly in contact with the national security team discussing Afghanistan’s situation and will proceed to receive news of new developments.
