The US Senate has confirmed Carlos Del Toro for the position of Navy Secretary on Saturday evening with a unanimous vote, Fox News informed.
The appointment of Del Toro makes him the second-ever Hispanic to assume the Navy secretary position.
Del Toro, who was the US President Joe Biden’s Pick for this position, served as a US Navy commander who afterwards turned into an entrepreneur who was a president and CEO for 17 years in SBG Technology Solutions, according to Defense News.
He served as a program manager in the US Navy for 22 years in the Space and Naval Warfare Command before taking a position in the Office of the Secretary of Defense as a senior executive assistant.
