Biden Signs Order Allowing Hong Kong Residents with Expired Visas to Remain in the US

US Presiden Biden has signed an order Wednesday aimed at blocking the removal of Hong Kong residents from the US for a period of 18 months, CNBC informed.

The policy will provide the Hong Kong residents a temporary safe haven from the repression committed by China in the country, the White House stated.

According to the order, all the Hong Kong residents who have expired US visas and are set to be removed from the country will now be allowed to stay a bit longer in the United States.

Biden also ordered the Homeland Security Department to allow the residents of Hong Kong who are covered by the new policy to find a job and work legally in the US.
