Governor Reynolds Blames Immigrants for Covid-19 Numbers Spike

Non vaccinated immigrants that are entering the US from its southern border and are getting dispersed throughout the country are to blame, at least partially, for the recent spike in Covid-19 cases , claims Iowa Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds as quoted by The Hill.

Her spokesperson Pat Garrett backed up her claims with the information that the number of Covid cases among migrants in Rio Grande Valley sector surge 900% with 135 Covid-positive migrants in the first 2 weeks of July, dubbing the surge “outbreak of the unvaccinated”.

The RGV sector is one of the main destinations for migrants crossing the south border of the United States and Reynolds recently sent 29 state troopers there at the request of Texas after the massive influx of new arrivals.

Reynold was blamed for hate-mongering for her comments by Joe Henry, state political director for the League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa, who pointed that she is better to do her job in Iowa, where only around 47 percent of population is fully vaccinated, instead of cry wolf about migrants.
