House Select Committee Reveals a Date for Holding First Hearing on January 6 Attack

The House Select Committee revealed on Wednesday that it is set to hold its first hearing on July 27 to assess the January 6 insurgence in the US Capitol, Fox News informed.

Eight Democrats and five Republicans are part of this committee created to probe and report back on what happened on January 6.

Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker has already revealed her committee members, that include Republican Representative Liz Cheney from Wyoming, who harshly criticized Donald Trump for his role in fueling the tensions that led to the attack on the US Capitol.

Cheney also voted in favor of the committee’s inquiry in the Capitol insurgence, following a filibuster by Senate Republicans that hindered the creation of an bipartisan commission in May.
