The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to fund a new digital news platform, that will open a studio in Washington DC, CNBC informed.
The move comes amid the kingdom’s start of new efforts of lobbying aimed at the Congress and White House.
The new efforts, which are still not reported, are supported by Taqnia, a subsidiary of the Saudi Technology Development and Investment Company, read the foreign lobbying disclosures which were submitted to the Justice Department.
The journalists and presenters that are allegedly going to be part of the project have past working experience in Al Jazeera, Fox News, Sirius XM satellite radio, and NBC.
The launch of the so-called news platform arrives as Saudi Arabia began the process of hiring new lobbyists in an effort to seek access to the Biden administration and the new Congress line-up.
