Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker intends to form a select committee that will investigate the January 6 Capitol attack, according to sources familiar with this matter, CNN informed.
The move comes after Senate Republicans have blocked the bid to create an independent committee that will investigate the insurrection.
Pelosi revealed on Tuesday before the House’s Steering and Policy Committee that she will establish a select committee, the sources claim. She also told the Democrats that the inquiry of January 6 is set to be an investigation in “pursuit of truth,” the sources said.
