DOJ Launches New Strike Force to Address Illegal Gun Trafficking

US Department of Justice is starting a new strike force to address illegal firearms trafficking, Lisa Monaco the Deputy Attorney General announced on Tuesday, CNBC informed.

Monaco also said the strike force will mainly focus on decreasing violent crime by taking action in some of the significant firearm trafficking corridors such as New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington DC.

Her announcement arrived as President Biden was preparing to give a speech focused on crime on Wednesday. Jen Psaki, the White House spokeswoman said that the President would offer an extensive strategy in order to address violent crimes and the gun violence in the summer months.
