Lawmakers from New York are very angry over the decision of the White House to renew the Canada border shutdown for another month, Fox News informed.
Canada and US closed the borders for nonessential travel in March 2020, and they have been renewing the closure monthly.
Democratic Representative Brian Higgins took to Twitter to express his annoyance from the measure, saying that it should not be extended anymore.
Higgins also issued a joint statement with Bull Huizenga saying that the nontransparent negotiations led on this issue are a disservice to the millions of residents on the both sides of the border.
Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada said that his country does not have the sufficient number of vaccinated people that would prompt the opening of the border.
