U.S. Secretary of State Reaffirms Commitment to Israel’s Security

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken reaffirmed Tuesday the U.S. commitment to Israel’s security, emphasizing once again that Biden’s administration fully supports Israel’s right to self-defense against Hamas during the joint press-conference with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Fox News.

Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv on Tuesday morning in the wake of a deadly 11-day conflict between Israel and Hamas, hoping to bolster the ceasefire agreement and to also to assist with humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. He also spoke out against the shocking eruption of anti-Semitic attacks in the U.S., calling them despicable and pointing they must stop, condemning this hateful behavior at home and abroad.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu and Blinken discussed Israel’s security needs, including replenishing the Iron Dome, and the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, including the return of Israeli MIAs and civilians in Hamas captivity.

Netanyahu thanked the United States for its support of Israel’s right of self-defense during Operation Guardian of the Walls, but also criticized the Iranian nuclear deal, vowing that Israel will defend itself from all threats.
