Members of Biden’s Cabinet Should Not Deliver In-person Commencement Addresses

Members of the Cabinet of US President Joe Biden were instructed not to give in-person commencement speeches at the universities this year, an official from the White House said on Thursday, Fox News informed.

“The White House and administration remain vigilant to the public health challenges posed by the pandemic, and we’re taking every step necessary to prevent the spread of the virus and model leadership for the country,” the White House official stated.

Biden administration authorized the ban for in-person addresses because of the ongoing guidelines that does not allow big gatherings. However, the members of the cabinet can address the audience virtually.

Although there is a ban in place, Biden is set to give a speech at the graduation ceremony of the US Coast Guard Academy this month.

Kamala Harris, the US Vice President is also set to gave a speech at the commissioning ceremony at the Naval Academy.

The CDC last month, revealed that people who are fully vaccinated can go outside and gather in small groups without a mask. However, certain officials claim that people still need to wear masks if they are around an outdoor crowd.
