Russian authorities rebuked the U.S. on Tuesday calling the deployment of their ships in the Black Sea a provocation and warning them to keep them away from the Crimean Peninsula “for their own good,”, informed The Hill.
“The United States is our adversary and does everything it can to undermine Russia’s position on the world stage. We do not see any other elements in their approach. Those are our conclusions,” said the Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, according to Russian news agencies.
Reuters calls this “change of positions” considering the previous language official Moscow used, calling the U.S. a partner.
Turkish government announced last week that the U.S. will be sending two warships in the Black Sea a response to the Russian military forces deployment f along the Ukrainian border.
Ships are expected to arrive in the Black Sea by Wednesday or Thursday, and to remain in the area until May 4.

G7 foreign ministers called to Russia on Monday to “cease its provocations” on the Russia-Ukraine border. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.
“We call on Russia to cease its provocations and to immediately de-escalate tensions in line with its international obligations,” it’s said in the statement.
“In particular, we call on Russia to uphold the OSCE principles and commitments that it has signed up to on transparency of military movements and to respond to the procedure established under Chapter III of the Vienna Document,” the statement from the G7 foreign ministers read.
