Senate Judiciary Committee plans to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination on Friday

Republican senators claim that the Judiciary Committee is set to vote Friday morning on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, CNBC informed.

Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, the second-ranking Republican, said in a statement on Thursday that the GOP conference would probably hold a meeting to assess their position.

Kavanaugh and a woman accusing him of sexual assault, California psychologist Christine Blasey Ford, spent hours testifying on Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Ford said that in 1982, Kavanaugh under the influence of alcohol forced her down to a bed, groped her and tried to take off her clothes. Kavanaugh, testifying second, forcefully rejected these claims and said he never did that to anyone.
