As U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland he commented to the reporters that whole event looks like the Academy Awards but “but with more photographers.”
In an interview with CNBC’s Joe Kernen on Friday, Trump praised about his administration’s annulment of regulations and the passage of the GOP tax plan, adding that the combination of the two efforts means “we have a dynamic country again.”
Trump also mentioned Toyota, Apple, and Chrysler as companies that already have announced their plans to build new facilities in the U.S., the president attributed everything to his new tax overhaul.
“I mean, how good is that? When was the last time you heard that?” Trump said.
“And without me being here and without what we’ve been doing including regulation, by the way, because I happen to think that regulation is as big as the tax cuts, okay? I think the tax cuts are incredible. But I think the regulations, the cutting of regulations – because the businesses couldn’t even – they couldn’t do anything. They were totally bound,” he continued.
“The cutting of the regulations was every bit as important as what we did with the tax cuts. I mean, everybody’s talking. I just came out and some really wonderful people said, ‘Davos has never been like this.’”
“This is like walking into the Academy Awards, except we have more photographer,” Trump added.
Although is not typical for presidents to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, this year many leaders of European countries are gathered there to confront Trump’s view on the future of globalization.
According to The Hill, Trump and his aides have said that he is attending to discuss ways to boost the U.S. economy.
“I’m going to Davos right now to tell people to invest in the United States,” Trump said Wednesday.
