Trump Not Getting the Credit He Believes He Deserves

President Donald Trump is convinced he doesn’t get the praise he deserves for all the achievements of his turbulent first year in office.

But, according to the CNN, it would be wrong to judge his presidency based on bills passed, regulations revoked and campaign promises kept as it would mean presenting a distorted image of the most controversial administration in generations.

Despite the approval he receives from his supporters, many disapprove of his presidency and because of that, Trump’s first political year is dictated by his personality and behavior.

However, Trump has not done much to discover the reason why he isn’t getting what he believes to be a well-deserved credit for his first 11 months in office but is, in reality, a not so glittering first-year as president.

Nonetheless, right before leaving for Christmas break, he took to Tweeter to attack the media for the appraisals of his record.

“With all my Administration has done on Legislative Approvals (broke Harry Truman’s Record), Regulation Cutting, Judicial Appointments, Building Military, VA, TAX CUTS & REFORM, Record Economy/Stock Market and so much more, I am sure great credit will be given by mainstream news?” his tweet read.

While on vacation at Mar-a-Lago, he tweeted again, accusing the media once again of presenting fake news.

“The Fake News refuses to talk about how Big and how Strong our BASE is. They show Fake Polls just like they report Fake News. Despite only negative reporting, we are doing well – nobody is going to beat us,” Trump tweeted.

In all honesty, he managed to secure the most sweeping tax overhaul in over three decades, which is set to give the majority of American citizens an increase in their paychecks. Moreover, gross domestic product growth was 3.3% in the third quarter after struggling along at around 2% annually while Barack Obama was President, and the stock market is roaring since he became president.

Regarding the president’s accomplishments, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “This has been a year of extraordinary accomplishment, by any objective standard.”

Among the most noteworthy achievements are also the successful foreign policy and the defeat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, as well as the toughest-ever sanctions against North Korea.

Nonetheless, opponents say not all of Trump’s achievements have been positive, while with some, they claim, Trump is piggybacking on the former President’s achievements and claiming them for himself. They also argue that most of his achievement are partisan and intended to please only members of his political party.
