Former US President Donald Trump has stood in support of Dr. Mehmet Oz for the Pennsylvania Senate seat, according to an announcement on Saturday, Fox News informed.
The announcement was shared through a tweet by Trump’s spokesperson.
In the statement, Trump says that Pennsylvania has a unique opportunity to elect a brilliant man in the US Senate and Save America.
Trump goes on a says that he had known Dr. Oz for so long, and that he has lived through his TV show, which made him quite respected and popular.
He added that Oz has a very strong opinion on issues such as tax cuts and abortion.
The former president also praised Dr. Oz for his stance on the Border, Crime, Election Fraud and the military and that he will always stand in support of the Second Amendment, adding that he will make sure that the US will get to be energy independent once again.
Oz thanked former President Donald Trump for his endorsement, saying that he feels proud for it.
Oz said that after inspecting all the candidates that wanted his endorsement President Trump decided to support him because he is a conservative who would oppose the current president Joe Biden and the left.
Oz also stated that “no one” will battle President Biden’s policies as aggressively as he will.
The announcement of Donald Trump comes after another potential candidate for a seat in the Senate, David McCormick, held a meeting with the former President at Mar-a-Lago.
Dr. Oz held a meeting with Donald Trump on March 16.
On Tuesday, Trump claimed he was close to making a decision on whether or not to endorse a candidate in the GOP Senate primary.
Oz is “a decent man… he’s a high-quality guy,” according to conservative talk radio presenter John Fredericks.
