Former US President Donald Trump has blasted on Sunday Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and RINO [Republican In Name Only] saying they should be ashamed of themselves for their votes in favour of Biden’s infrastructure bill that was passed on Friday, The Hill reports.
Trump blamed all Republicans who voted the bill, for Democrat longevity at the United States’ and the Republican Party’s expense. He suggested that Democrats would take advantage of GOP by relying on their support to pass their $1.75 trillion social spending bill.
Former US President argued that the bill is in fact ‘non-infrastructure’ only 11% of the money being wasted goes to real infrastructure.
The US House of Representatives has finally passed on Friday the $1 trillion bill to fund US infrastructure projects – clearing the way for it to be signed into law by Biden – after 13 Republicans broke with the party to vote in favor of it.
US Senate passed the bill – aimed at funding projects to build bridges, roads, water infrastructure, EVs infrastructure etc. -in August in a 69-30 vote supported by all the Democrats and 19 Republicans, including McConnell.
At the time, Trump called Biden’s infrastructure bill a disgrace hours before the Senate was poised to vote on ending debate, bashing again McConnell and other Republican lawmakers for supporting the bill and giving Democrats a weapon for future endorsements.
He underscored that McConnell was not smart enough use the debt ceiling card to negotiate a good infrastructure package
This was just another episode on Trump and McConnell’s clash series that has begun the past year when Trump slammed McConnell calling him “gutless” and a “stupid fucker” for not helping him overturn the election, while McConnell condemned Trump for the January 6 Capitol riot, calling him “practically and morally responsible” for the events.
