NIH Director Says Measures Are Necessary for Slowing Down the Spread of Covid-19 New Variant

Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institute of Heal (NIH) stated that the new, delta variant of Covid-19 is a new threat to the people, and every effective type of measure should be used in order to slow down the spreading, which includes policies for wearing face coverings in some closed areas, Fox News informed.

Collins talked to “Fox News Sunday” saying that the delta variant is more contagious and that the vaccines against Covid-19 are generally effective in slowing down the spreading.

Collins also said that the new variant is different than the one from last year and that they need to reset everything they know on how to react to it.
