Republican Senator from Ohio Rob Portman, gave an update on the negotiations for bipartisan infrastructure legislation, announcing that one part aimed at helping finance the bill, contested by some Republicans, will not be included, Fox News informed.
Portman spoke to CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday revealing that the reform of IRS enforcement will not make it as part of this legislation.
Portman explained that the reasons were the pushback they faced but also the proposal Democrats were going to put in the reconciliation package, that had even more IRS enforcement.
He also said that this created an issue as the overall agreement was that that was the bipartisan negotiated package that everyone vowed to stick to, adding that Biden stated that there will be no renegotiating of the items in the package for reconciliation.
