Saudi Arabia Reports 147 New Coronavirus Cases

The Saudi Ministry of Health has reported 147 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday morning, Gulf News reported.

The Ministry pointed out that the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom has reached 2752 cases so far, of which 551 cases have been recovered.

The Ministry of Health called on everyone to adhere to preventive guidelines such as, avoiding shaking hands, constantly washing hands, avoiding gatherings and staying home to ensure safe and health, and to contact 937 for inquiries and consultations regarding Coronavirus 24 hours a day.

Saudi Arabia imposed a 24-hour lockdown on residents in all of its major cities Monday and ordered non-essential businesses to shut until further notice in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The curfew will apply in the capital of Riyadh as well as the cities of Jeddah, Dammam, Dhahran, Tabuk, Hofuf, Taif, Al Qatif and Khobar, the interior ministry said in a statement published on the official Saudi Press Agency.
