Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci blasted President Donald Trump in a tweet Sunday, saying that Trump turns on everyone and will do so on “the entire country.”
“For the last 3 years, I have fully supported this President. Recently he has said things that divide the country in a way that is unacceptable. So, I didn’t pass the 100% litmus test. Eventually, he turns on everyone and soon it will be you and then the entire country,” the tweet read.
The tweet comes in response to the President’s criticism of Scaramucci, labeling him “incapable” of his job, after the former communications director had called Trump’s visit to El Paso and Dayton a “catastrophe.”
Trump, known for frequently taking to Twitter to attack his opponents and everyone who does not share his views, mocked Scaramucci for only serving in the Trump administration for 11 days.
“Anthony Scaramucci, who was quickly terminated (11 days) from a position that he was totally incapable of handling, now seems to do nothing but television as the all time expert on ‘President Trump’,” he wrote late on Saturday.
Trump then added that Scaramucci, in fact, knows very little about him, “like many other so-called television experts,” apart from the fact, as the President put it, that his administration has done more than any other administration before.
The former White House aide drew President Trump’s ire after he commented during an MSNBC appearance that the President’s trip to the two grief-stricken cities fell short of expectations.
“So look, the President didn’t do well on the trip,” he said, a sentiment confirmed by a number of current aides.
They said that the two visits did not go as planned, demonstrated by a video that emerged of Trump bragging about crowd sizes while visiting patients at a Texas hospital.
Scaramucci has likewise criticized President Trump for making unsubstantiated claims, and for tweeting “racist and unacceptable” remarks.
