As the Democratic presidential debate continues, candidates try to get closer to the voters and are working on their agenda as they use social media to share their points and have mini-debates with the other candidates before the next major Democratic debate.
Such debate occurred on Twitter on Friday between candidates Andrew Yang and Michael Bennet as they exchanged several topics on various ‘’issues.’’
Democratic candidate and a tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang tagged Michael Bennet in one of his tweets on Friday morning, as he said:
“I would like to signal to the press that I will be attacking Michael Bennet at next week’s debate. Sorry @MichaelBennet but you know what you did,’’ to which Bennet instantly replied: “Andrew, how did you know I got a C in precalculus in high school – on the retake.’’
Later the same day, both candidates continued to issue tweets to each other, as Yang wrote:
“If I only get 3 minutes of talking time in the next debate I’m still using all of them to attack @MichaelBennet.’’
Bennet did not stay short of words as he shot back:
“Just confirmed with debate officials that @AndrewYang’s microphone will be muted during my rebuttal.’’
The Twitter community had mostly positive feedback for the exchange of words from the two candidates, as hundreds of tweeting and retweeting were shared in which the two candidates were praised for the level of their humorous replies, as one user tweeted:
“The world needs much more of this kind of stuff… Thanks for the laughs guys.’’
The two 2020 Democratic hopefuls will take the stage next week for the second round of primary debates, which will be held in Detroit on July 30 and 31. Yang and Bennet will face eight other candidates, including front-runner and former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Kamala Harris and Senator Cory Booker on July 31, The Hill reports.
