Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch made an appearance on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to testify behind closed doors on questions on the Justice Department’s Russia probe as well as the Hillary Clinton email investigation, after former FBI director James Comey interviews with these committees, Fox news informed.
Comey was interrogated Monday, and in early December, by the House Judiciary and Oversight committees. He had several complaints after having a frustrating experience, and cast accusations on Republicans of being motivated by politics.
Democrats who are part of the committee said that the hearing was a waste of time. Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin said that he did not discover anything new after Lynch’s interrogation. Raskin even said that some people fell asleep in the room at the time of Lynch’s testimony.
Lynch was under fire after her meeting with Bill Clinton several days before the FBI stated it would not press charges against Hillary Clinton for her handling of classified information on her private email server.
The committees will not release a transcript of Lynch’s interview; that and other transcripts are expected to eventually be released as part of their investigation report.
