RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on four polls, ranging from 38% (Gallup) to 49% (Rasmussen). Without these two extremes, it would be 45%…. President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today, which is 9 points higher than his approval rating.

RON’S COMMENT: 11% of Democrats, 29% of independents and 61% of Republicans think Trump will cooperate with Democrats. For historical context, in 2006––52% of Americans expected then-Pres. Bush to cooperate with Democrats in Congress (compared to 33% now with Trump).

John Patterson, former governor of Alabama (1959-1963), is 97 years old. He beat out by three months the second oldest former governor, Fritz Hollings, 96, who was governor of South Carolina (1959-63).
