Trump Is Campaigning Alongside Ted Cruz Despite Previous Beef

President Donald Trump is joining the Houston campaign of Senator Ted Cruz on Monday night.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo has reported that the rally will be held at the Toyota Center with 18,000 people present at the event. Allegedly, some 70,000 have signed up for the rally where President Trump will take part.

Many have said that Trump’s partaking at the campaign rally in Houston signifies possible reconciliation between the two former political rivals.

During the Republican primary challenge in 2016, Cruz and Trump exchanged insults very regularly. One of the names Trump called Cruz was “liar” and then proceeded to fire at his wife, whom he called “ugly.” The President also made remarks against the Texas incumbent’s father, claiming he was part of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. According to Cruz, Trump was a “sniveling coward” who was a “small and petty man who is intimidated by strong women” with connections in the mafia.

Since the presidential election in 2016, Cruz and Trump have been making efforts to reconcile.

Less than two months after taking office as president, Trump invited Cruz and his family to dine at the White House.

Ted Cruz wrote a fawning profile of Trump for Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of 2018.

“The same cultural safe spaces that blinkered coastal elites to candidate Trump’s popularity have rendered them blind to President Trump’s achievements on behalf of ordinary Americans,” Cruz wrote. “President Trump is doing what he was elected to do: disrupt the status quo. That scares the heck out of those who have controlled Washington for decades, but for millions of Americans, their confusion is great fun to watch.”
